GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta will return for its fourth edition this year with thousands of visitors expected to have an "elevating" experience above Padang Polo on Feb 24 and 25.
Organised by AKA Balloon Sdn Bhd, endorsed by the state government and supported by Penang Island City Council (MBPP) and Penang Global Tourism (PGT), people who flock to the ground will have a chance to celebrate Chinese New Year with much excitement.
AKA Balloon Sdn Bhd CEO Nur Izzati Khairudin said the highlight of this two-day event will be 16 colourful hot air balloons up for display in the morning and evening sessions.
As for the tickets, Izzati said, three tethered balloons are opened for rides to the public at RM50 per person while cold inflation will be RM5 per person.
Tickets are limited to the first 150 persons (with numbered tags) in the queue.
The official opening ceremony will be held at 8.15pm on Feb 24 by Penang Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas and Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at Padang Polo.
