BCDP To Boost Ex-soldiers' Income
JOHOR BAHRU, Feb 11 (Bernama) - The Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation is to work with the Armed Forces Ex-Servicemen Affairs Corporation (PERHEBAT) to implement projects under the Bioeconomic Community Development Programme (BCDP) in the effort to boost the income of retired soldiers.
The BCDP projects, which are implemented via contract farming, are certified by the PERHEBAT chairman and management to provide additional income to veterans of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) who had sacrificed much for the people and nation.
Bioeconomy Corp chief executive officer Dr Mohd Shuhaizam Mohd Zain said BCDP would help retired veterans to continue to serve and contribute to the country's bio-economy.
"In addition to contributing to the country's bio-economy, these retirees can be developed into bio-agropreneurs so as to enhance their social mobility," he said in a statement here today.
The memorandum of co-operation was signed at the People-Friendly NBOS Programme in Kluang today between PERHEBAT director-general Ahmad Tajudin Jaafar and Dr Mohd Shuhaizam, witnessed by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.....
