Idris Orders Probe On Possible Match-Fixing In MU
MELAKA, Feb 10 (Bernama) -- Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron has directed Melaka United Soccer Association (MUSA) to investigate the team's players following the big loss in their second Super League match against Selangor recently.
Idris who is also MUSA president said the probe which would look into the 1-4 loss to Selangor at Cheras Football Stadium on Tuesday (Feb 6), was being carried out by the management.
"It is not a good sign for Melaka United (MU) and I have ordered the team manager to conduct a detailed study on the capability of the coaches and import players," he told reporters after presenting contributions in conjunction with Chinese New Year at Seri Negeri today.
Meanwhile, Melaka United manager Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi when contacted by Bernama said MUSA took seriously the call of the president and would conduct more detailed investigations including analysing the match video.
"Should there be any elements of match-fixing found, MUSA management will not hesitate to take action against any players involved but then it is still too early for me to say if there were elements of match-fixing in MU," he said.....
