JKKKP, JPP Play Huge Role In Helping Representatives Serve The People - Noh
TANJONG KARANG, Jan 12 (Bernama) -- The strength of Barisan Nasional (BN) in Selangor depends largely on the role played by the Federal Village Development and Security Committee (JKKKP) and the Residents' Representative Committee (JPP).
Selangor BN chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar said the two committees were like intermediaries for elected representatives to help solve the problems of the people.
Citing the Tanjong Karang constituency, where he is the MP, Noh said he had appointed 32 JKKKPs and five JPPs to take care of the residents' welfare in their respective areas.
"The village head is likened to a prime minister. If the village leaders take heed of the people's problems, always be friendly with them and make them feel at ease, BN will become stronger.
"In Tanjong Karang, the power does not lie with me or BN, but with the village leaders. When BN is strong, during the GE (General Election) they (the people) will be with us," he said during a press conference after a walkabout at Kampung Sri Tiram Jaya here, today.....
