PM NAJIB LAUNCHES WAR AGAINST SOCIAL MEDIA SLANDERS
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 - Prime Minister, Najib Razak today launched the War Against Social Media Slanders to create social awareness on the effects from the spread of false news on society, the economy and national security.
The campaign organised by the UMNO IT Bureau was an effort to stop the spread of slanders against individuals, leaders, government, ministries, agencies, non-governmental organisations and others.
POLICE STILL PROBING FOUR ILLEGAL BANGLADESHI WORKER SMUGGLING SYNDICATES
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 7 - Police are still investigating allegations that four large syndicates are smuggling illegal Bangladeshi workers into the country daily via Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohamad Fuzi Harun said police were still investigating the syndicates said to be operating in Dhaka, Bangladesh and in Kuala Lumpur.
Before, a local newspaper reported the syndicates were said to be raking in RM5.2 million in profits annually by charging between RM15,000 and RM20,000 each including money to grease the authorities especially the Immigration as well as the Malaysian Embassy in Dhaka.
BUS DRIVER CHARGED WITH CAUSING DEATH OF PASSENGER
KAMPAR, Dec 7 - An express bus driver pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate's Court today to a charge of reckless driving which resulted in the death of a woman passenger yesterday.
N. Shasikumar, 41, made the plea before magistrate Nur Faizah Muhamad Saleh after the charge was read out to him by a court interpreter.
Shasikumar was charged with driving a bus in a reckless manner, causing the death of Chan Kwai Fah, 43, at the Km294.7 north bound of the North South Expressway near Kampar at 5.45 am yesterday.
